Personal Beliefs about God: I believe in the one true and living God who created the universe and who is eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus was the word, who became flesh, to be crucified for our sins, buried and resurrected three days later. He lived a sinless life, obeying the will of the Father in all things, dying on the cross to pay the penalty
for the sins of man. Through his death, burial and resurrection, Jesus reconciled all things to himself.
I believe one can only come to the Father, through Jesus Christ, having received salvation by accepting Jesus as savior. Salvation is nothing we can do on our own or through works, but solely by grace, given of, by and through God.
The Holy Spirit: I believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church.
The Holy Bible: I believe that the Bible is the inerrant and authoritative word of God. God created male and female, alike, in His image and gave them the mission to fill the earth as image-bearers who worship Him. Every person is created in God's image and is, therefore, worthy of love, dignity, and
respect regardless of age, race, gender, or class.
Salvation: I believe that every person is sinful because of the Fall and in need of redemption. I believe that salvation comes by grace, through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
I grew up attending church, but it wasn't until my late twenties that I fully understood that knowing about God and knowing God were two different things.
